Do I have to give the $250 if I am a member of the organization?
Yes. The whole idea is to provide community members an opportunity to be a part of inspiring impact without a huge time or monetary commitment. Members at the event will register and then have the opportunity to vote. After the vote, everyone makes out their $250 check to the chosen charity for the quarter.
How do nominations work?
Organizations will submit a funding application on our website (must be a 501c3 in your community). Our charity committee reviews all of the applications and 3 are selected to particiapte in the next quarterly meeting to present about their non-profit organization and how the money will directly impact their mission.
Does the charity have to be in our local community?
Yes. This group is about supporting local charities/organizations right here in our community so nominees must be inside your local area...Impact you can See!
What if I don't like the chosen charity?
Our objective is to support the good work happening here in our community with a financial gift. Every meeting participants will have the opportunity to submit a charity. We'll draw three to present and then vote on one. If you participate, the expectation is that you will support the chosen charity for that quarter.
What if I can't make it to an event?
Life happens and we're all busy. The goal is to have the charity walk out of the event that night with the full contribution, so please connect with the person who invited you or someone you know who is a member and provide them with your check prior to the meeting. Every attempt should be made to ensure the charity walks out that night with all checks in their hand.
Is there any religious or other affiliation?
No. 100 Plus People Who Care has no direct affiliation with any other group or organization. We're about getting together once a quarter and supporting charities in our community.
How do I know where my money is "actually" going?
The financial piece of 100 Plus People is purely a pass through. You will write your check directly to the charity so you know 100% of the money goes directly to them. The charity who receives the donation will attend the next meeting to present how the money was used and what impact it had on the organization.
What else can I do to support this AMAZING group?
Recruitment. Our goal is to meet and exceed 100 Plus People. Good people know more good people so helping to spread the word and bringing folks to the events is the best way to help us grow!
